Virtus Clinical Development was established in 2002, by Roger Trythall
(Find out more about the senior
management of Virtus). Shortly after CroMedica was acquired by
PRA International. Roger established the South African affiliate of
CroMedica and served on the international Board of CroMedica, Canada.
Prior to CroMedica, Roger spent more that 20 years with Sandoz (now
Novartis).
Virtus is based in Cape Town, South Africa (Find
out more about why South Africa is a good destination for clinical
development). Cape Town is perfectly positioned as it is a major
centre of medical excellence with three universities and two medical
schools. There are also many outstanding physicians and investigators
in South Africa and Virtus is developing strong relationships and
alliances with these individuals.
Virtus has already had major successes managing a close relationships
with local and international clients to design, manage and monitor
the progress of clinical development projects.
Our current clients are US based biotechnology companies. We are
in discussions with other clients based in Canada and Switzerland.
When considering and selecting Virtus, these clients have made specific
reference to our dedication to their projects and the specific scientific
and medical expertise we can lend to their projects. Such expertise
may not always be required by larger sponsors, but its availability
and our dedication is highly relevant in bringing projects through
the regulatory process, selecting the appropriate investigators
and achieving the demanding timelines of the sponsor.
